businessman-2365536_1920.jpgAs mentioned, YouTube is the second largest search engine in the world, so it is really important for people to be able to find your videos and access your channel easily. For this, there’s no beating great content; however, there is still one big thing you can do to increase the click rate of your channel

Metadata is information that tells the audience what your video is about. It is important to get your metadata done, because it introduces your video and ensure that potential viewers can see your video when they are searching things related to your content. But make sure that what you have put in the metadata is closely related to your video, because YouTube will delete content if you create metadata that looks like spam. See our 5 tips for doing your metadata right:

Tip 1: Title

The title is the first thing viewers will read when they are searching for a list of videos, so it is critical to make sure that your title is concise and clear. You need to make viewers interested, or make them feel like you can help them solve their current problems. Do some research of your own and see what keyword leads viewers to search related content. Remember to make sure that the keywords are mentioned in your title, but do not write over 60 characters because YouTube will cut off titles that are over 60 characters.

Tip 2: Description

First of all, make sure that you include important links or CTAs in your description, so it can attract more views and increase engagement. Other than that, you can also include transcripts of your video, which can greatly improve your SEO and help viewers review  keywords that you have mentioned in the video. Lastly, remember that YouTube will only show the first few sentences of your description (which is around 100 characters), then viewers will have to click ‘show more’ to read the rest, so remember to put the important things at the top of your description.

Tip 3: Tags

You have to know that tags help viewers to find your video when they start YouTube, which means that when viewers type words that are related to your tags, your video will appear in front of them. Tags can help your video to reach broader audiences. Remember to tag the most important keywords and variation of other keywords.

Tip 4: Thumbnail

Your video thumbnail will be the first image that viewers see when they search, so it is very important for you customize it. When you are filming your video, remember to get a shot that can represent your video clearly in one image. Customize it to impress viewers.

 Tip 5: Playlist

You may come up with topics that are related to certain themes, so playlists can be the best way to collate content that is related to each other. You can organize your videos in one playlist as a collection, as it encourages viewers to continue watching other videos produced by you after.
